Bar & Bat Mitzvahs

Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs are Jewish ceremonies to reflect the coming of age in the Jewish community. A Bar Mitzvah, at age 13, is celebrated for a boy while a Bat Mitzvah, at age 12, is for a girl. At this time, the person is considered a full part of the Jewish community and is seen as morally and ethically responsible for his or her actions.
